The ACC has announced Dr Patrick Sim as its inaugural President. At its most recent meeting, the ACC Board of Directors unanimously agreed to Dr Sim’s appointment. The Board has expressed its total confidence in Dr Sim as an exemplary college leader.
Dr Sim’s appointment as President follows on from his role as CEO during the startup phase of the ACC. Sim initiated the ACC in 2015 where he lobbied the Chiropractors Association of Australia (South Australia) to fund research into the feasibility of a chiropractic program in South Australia and the structural format of the ideal program.
In 2016, Sim, along with fellow chiropractors Hayden Belle, Aaron Scott, and Mark Postles formed the Australian Chiropractic College Limited, a not for profit company created for the purposes of higher education. This then facilitated the public launch of ACC and the start of fund raising. 2016 also saw the beginning of the arduous task of preparing the application for TEQSA, a process that saw over 7000 pages of ACC’s processes, standards and other documentation be submitted.
Sim has recruited some of the finest minds ever assembled in a chiropractic program to the ACC, bringing together international, domestic, intra- and inter-professional experts in the fields of chiropractic, allied health, business, finance, governance, and higher education.
Under Sim’s watch, ACC has raised more than $1.8 million dollars for the cause, and in January 2019, ACC achieved 5 year TEQSA registration and accreditation.
